It’s Joe aka JoeMart aka dat big guy back again from my one-year hiatus from posting on Brolic Beats. I think EDC NYC 2012 was still getting to me. Anyways, I’m going to go a different path this time and talk about a protein I highly recommend MRI Pro-NOS. I have taken this stuff off and on for the past five years and I have to say it is still my favorite whey protein. Here are the specs:
If you are looking to trim down at gym, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this to you, as the caloric content is pretty high for a whey protein (300 calories). However, if you are looking to maintain your weight or bulk up, I cannot say enough good things about this product.
42 grams of protein is one of the highest I have seen for whey, and it has a good carbs: protein ratio at about 1:3. Sugar levels are fairly low, so you not get that fake taste you see in some other bars or powders. pro- NOS comes in four flavors: Banana Crème, French Vanilla Crème, Dutch Chocolate Royale and Cookies and Cream. I have had the French Vanilla Crème and the Banana Crème and they are awesome. It is thick enough where you do not need milk to get a good consistency; just 10oz of water does the job just fine. The taste is fantastic; it could make a great lunch meal replacement as well (which is what I do).
Pro-NOS is a bit expensive. For a 3 pound tub, it costs around $55; however, if you can pick this up on sale, as it is on Bodybuilding.com now, you will not regret it at all. Even at full price, I would recommend buying.
That is all for now. At this rate, I will be back next May with a new post. For now though, enjoy!
We took the original Modern BCAA which came with 10 grams of BCAAs in it and were very pleased with that product. Just recently USP labs came out with Modern BCAA+ which delivers 15 grams of BCAAs which is 5 grams more than it’s original formula. You have to take 2 scoops and you get 30 servings per container. We recommend taking an amino supplement daily to help with muscle growth and recovery. Whether you take them first thing in the morning, pre or post workout, or even before bed they are a necessity to help you to achieve results. Why else do you think there are BCAA’s found in about 99% of the protein powders out there? Exactly. We gave you a quick break down on the product, now below (past the pictures) is what USP Labs has to say about the new product:

One thing is for sure, we were not expecting BSN to come out with this new product. “True-Mass 1200” is their brand new weight gainer protein powder supplement. We were not expecting this because they have had so much success with “True Mass” which is also a weight gainer product. We do not know if BSN will discontinue True Mass or have both products be available at the same time. Anyway, True-Mass 1200 is for people who are seriously trying to gain weight. Check out these nutrition facts:
Over 1200 calories for only 2 scoops and you get 15 servings, that is awesome. Usually gainers over a thousand calories have very low servings, like 5 or fewer which is kind of pointless. 16 grams of fat is not that bad for a gainer, and the high sodium count is normal. 50 grams of protein is about the standard for a gainer supplement; has an extensive protein blend consisting of whey, milk, egg and even hydrolyzed whey protein. It is also packed with over 200 grams of carbs which helps you gain that muscle mass. The product also contains BCAA’s.
It comes in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla and runs for around $50. It may seem a little pricey but trust us it is not compared to other gainers that have a similar nutrition fact label.
Within the family of Muscletech’s performance series you will find “Phase8”, a protein powder that is designed to feed your muscles for up to 8 hours. With 26 grams of protein, 0 sugar and low carbs and calories, this protein is perfect for post workout or in between meals. Within the protein blend you will see it has numerous different types such as: Milk Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Micellar Casein, Calcium Caseinate, Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate, and Whey Protein Isolate. It is always important when choosing a protein powder to pay attention to what kinds of protein is found in the product. The formula also contains almost 5 grams of BCAA’s and a little over 2 grams of glutamine. Check out some pictures of the product and read up more on the nutrition facts:

Neurocore is a super concentrated pre workout stimulant. Muscle Tech offers different series of products such as “Performance”, “Concentrated” and “Hardcore Pro” series. Neurocore is found in the concentrated series, and many people like the energy, focus, and endurance it gives you.
The label states you need 3 scoops for full effects. 1 scoop gives you only 3,300mg of substance which is not that much so it makes sense. But you need 3 scoops for a “concentrated” formula which dosen’t really sit well with us. Anyway, the product’s main ingredients are pretty standard: caffeine, beta alanine, creatine hcl, and l-citrulline. These ingredients will give you results. Caffeine is found in almost all pre workouts as well as beta alanine for endurance and focus. Creatine hcl is a better form of creatine monohydrate, and l-citrulline helps with the whole N.O. process. We recommend taking at least two scoops with this prior to workout. Flavors come in Fruit Punch, Blue Raspberry, and Grape. Check out some pictures of the product below:
