James Alexander and Gary Rabbit of Grand & Warren hand out their take on Trey Songz’ “Na Na.” Hailing from Jersey City, NJ, the duo adds solid house elements to the original making it much more club-ready. Already supported by Martin Garrix, Shermanology, and a slew of other vets, Grand & Warren are certainly a group to look out for.
If 21 free bootlegs were somehow not enough to hold you offer, New York duo Live City return with another freebie. Ethan and Jake hand out their super groovy take on Groove Armada & Brodanse’s “Sweat.” So put your Big-Room/Top 10 Beatport tracks aside for a bit and enjoy some refreshing, groovy vibes!
It seems that Daft Punk’s latest album has brought that funk mojo back into the scene, as DJs like Lemâitre have jumped on the same bandwagon. This remix of the pop-synth-y ‘Hey Now’ is as funky and soulful as ever. With classical piano chords, guitar riffs and soft synth-phrases effortlessly intertwined into Martin’s unique vocals, the track further reinforces that summery vibe and playful flair that was so evident in the original, but with an edge that only Lemaître can muster; simply put – they’ve smashed it!
Since their worldwide debut with the track “Rebels In The Night” in November 2012, Black Boots has taken the world by storm, building a rapidly growing fan base and accolades from the media. For this Summer of 2013, they bring us ‘Streetwalker,’ a electro-synth based melody overlaid with some heavy-hearted vocals. This one’s a perfect one for those sunsets over the ocean.
After his “I Could Be The One” collaboration with Nicky Romero stormed (and still is) radio airwaves, Avicii is back, but in a completely different way. Avicii turned heads earlier this year at Ultra by playing a new style of music, one that most have never heard from anyone before, let alone from Tim. This new breed of EDM is seen here with the release of his “Wake Me Up” which consists of a country/folk-like infusion with electronic elements. The track is certainly not something one would hear blasting at a club or festival, but the risk Tim takes here should be applaudable.
“Wake Me Up” will release June 25th off PRMD Records, Ash Pournouri’s (manager to Avicii) new imprint.
Remember that classic, chill, Ibiza house sound? Luckily, 3 AM Devices hasn’t. California Native Andy Kershaw brings us ‘Tracing My Calls,’ which has a groovy bongo-laden beat with some organ action. If Cali House is to become a new genre, it’ll be thanks to guys like him!
You might remember Tom Budin for making that ethereal remix of Zedd’s Clarity, and now he’s back to put his spin on Daft Punk’s comeback release, “Get Lucky.” This isn’t a heavy remix, but it adds just the right amount of electro zest to make things quite exciting. I’d say this is nearly better than the original. And the best part? It’s available as a free download! Listen below and weigh in!
