After one year, the world’s #2 DJ, Tiësto, brings us his long-awaited third installment to the Club Life album series; this time paying homage to one of electronica’s most important cities, Stockholm, Sweden. As expected, Tiësto’s own work is the bread and butter of this compilation album. Several of these hits like “Paradise” (with Dyro) and “Back To The Acid” (with MOTi) debuted at Ultra. Aside from the original content, established hits by other DJs see some remixes in this album (Calvin Harris’ “Sweet Nothing”).

“On this compilation you can hear the influence of the new generation of Dutch and Swedish DJs. When I listen back to this mix and the tracks that I produced and remixed, it takes me back to special places and very fond memories of Stockholm. SUPPLEMENTS/NUTRITION || MRI PRO-NOS

Hey everyone,

It’s Joe aka JoeMart aka dat big guy back again from my one-year hiatus from posting on Brolic Beats. I think EDC NYC 2012 was still getting to me. Anyways, I’m going to go a different path this time and talk about a protein I highly recommend MRI Pro-NOS. I have taken this stuff off and on for the past five years and I have to say it is still my favorite whey protein. Here are the specs:

If you are looking to trim down at gym, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this to you, as the caloric content is pretty high for a whey protein (300 calories). However, if you are looking to maintain your weight or bulk up, I cannot say enough good things about this product.

42 grams of protein is one of the highest I have seen for whey, and it has a good carbs: protein ratio at about 1:3. Sugar levels are fairly low, so you not get that fake taste you see in some other bars or powders. pro- NOS comes in four flavors: Banana Crème, French Vanilla Crème, Dutch Chocolate Royale and Cookies and Cream. I have had the French Vanilla Crème and the Banana Crème and they are awesome. It is thick enough where you do not need milk to get a good consistency; just 10oz of water does the job just fine. The taste is fantastic; it could make a great lunch meal replacement as well (which is what I do).

Pro-NOS is a bit expensive. For a 3 pound tub, it costs around $55; however, if you can pick this up on sale, as it is on Bodybuilding.com now, you will not regret it at all. Even at full price, I would recommend buying.

SHOW REVIEWS || MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY M-GLOW (04.19.2013)

Friday, April 19th kicked off Montclair State University’s 2nd ever “M-Glow” paint party.  This year’s party, organized by Student Life at Montclair (SLAM) and The SGA Programming Board, brought in a large number of Red Hawk students eager to be doused in neon-colored paint; a number that definitely surpassed last year‘s inaugural party. Music was provided by 92.3 NOW’s DJ David S who played a ton of crowd-pleasing anthems ranging from electronic to hip-hop/pop. The party ran from 6-10PM. Just as the show ended, the students got a head start to their paint-removal process as the sky opened up and dumped heavy rain.

WORKOUTS, VIDEOS || RESISTANCE BANDS WORKOUT – BEGINNER

Biceps: start with arms at shoulder width, grasp handles and pull up keeping elbows stationary, make sure to squeeze at the top. Move feet closer together for easy reps or further apart to make it a bit more challenging.

Triceps: put the band over something above you. Pull handles down so your arms are 90 degrees to the floor. Pushdown and squeeze at the bottom.

Shoulders: press the bands over your head, squeeze at the top.

Back: put the bands around a pole or something, grasp the handles with palms facing down, then get in a squat like position, slightly arch your back and then pull towards your upper back.

Chest: put the bands around a pole or something, arms straight at 90 degrees, then slightly bend them and perform a bear hug motion. Make sure to feel the stretch.

Abs: put the bands around the pole again, grasp both handles at the same time and act as of you are chopping wood. Twist your body and tighten your abs.

4 sets, 12-15 reps

Back:
Rows (Overhand Grip)
4 sets, 20-30 reps

Biceps:
Curls
4 sets, 20-30 reps
